Posted December 06, 2018 06:10:08 A driver has been arrested for allegedly stealing a petrol engine block from a car at a petrol station.
The driver, aged in his 40s, is charged with theft of a vehicle and attempting to steal.

“At the time of the offence the accused had been charged with a number of offences including the theft of an engine block, and theft of motor vehicle, and attempted to steal the vehicle,” Detective Inspector Michael Boon said.
“The accused has since been charged and will be facing further charges.”‘
A lot of pain’A spokeswoman for the Queensland Police Service said the accused was on his way to a petrol pump when he was approached by a woman who asked if he had anything to buy.
“She then asked the accused if he could borrow her engine, and he did,” the spokeswoman said.
Police said he told her that he had been driving his Volkswagen Golf to a gas station and that he needed an engine.
The spokeswoman said police were still awaiting the outcome of an initial police interview with the woman, who was later interviewed by police.
“We have had some concern for the safety of the woman and her family,” the spokesperson said.
